About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead and scale its engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic hiring, mentoring, and performance management, as well as actively improving and managing engineering processes and systems. This hands-on technical leadership role requires the VP to write and ship production code regularly, work closely with Product Managers to define and execute the technical roadmap, and drive architectural decisions to ensure technical excellence. The VP will also partner with executive leadership to set the technical vision, manage engineering budgets, and foster a strong engineering culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Applicants for the VP of Engineering position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years' in engineering management. Strong experience in either Python or TypeScript is essential, and experience with cloud providers such as AWS or GCP is a plus. The role requires a candidate with strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for software engineering and mentoring. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-moving environment, and experience with open-source contributions or side projects is also desirable.
