Responsibilities

We're seeking an amazing Lead Software Engineer to join the PCAF Test Enablement Innovation Team. You'll work in a fast-paced, creative environment to deliver software solutions that help business partners improve testing, business processes, and services.

This role emphasizes end-to-end execution-from solution design and development to deployment-and a mindset focused on innovation, including agentic AI, GenAI, and cloud/platform engineering.

You'll have opportunities to lead small development teams, collaborate with engineers across the department, and influence improvements to test strategy, operational workflows, and software delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using python pyspark, Angular, and Go.
• Apply AI tools and techniques, including GenAI development, Agents, and LLM-based models, to build intelligent solutions that enhance test and product capabilities.
• Collaborate with Modernization teams to develop innovative solutions to accelerate software development life cycle delivery.
• Build and optimize AI and Cloud workflows (including pipelines, orchestration, and integrations).
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies and best practices to continuously improve our AI capabilities.

Qualifications

Desired Experience

• Python pyspark, Terraform, APIs, JSON, Angular, React
• AWS (Lambda, EC2, SQS, S3, Cloudfront, API gateway, SNS, Route53)
• Experience in cloud architecture and development
• Focused on integrating DevSecOps practices in their work
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Angular for frontend development.
• Experience with Go for backend is a plus.
• Applied experience using AI tools and frameworks, specifically:
• Generative AI development (GenAI)
• Agent-based AI solutions
• Large Language Model (LLM) integration and deployment

Non-Technical Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, collaborate cross-functionally, and empower others
• Ability to adapt quickly in a changing, high-velocity environment
• Preferred: P&C experience
• Comfortable resolving highly complex problems using expert knowledge across multiple application types
• Comfortable working within an Onsite/Offshore delivery model

Our Benefits

Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

• Potential starting salary range: $107,000 - $135,000
  • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
  • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
• Potential yearly incentive pay up to 10% of base salary
