Principal Network Development Engineer
As a Principal Network Development Engineer within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Network Reliability Engineering (NRE), you will help ensure the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of one of the world's largest cloud networks. You will work on complex network infrastructure challenges, develop automation to improve operational efficiency, and collaborate across engineering and operations teams to deliver highly available cloud services.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and improving the availability, performance, and reliability of OCI network services; diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex network incidents across large-scale cloud environments; designing and developing automation and tooling to eliminate repetitive operational tasks and prevent recurring issues; and participating in network deployment, expansion, and upgrade projects.
Technical qualifications include expert-level knowledge of routing and networking protocols; strong hands-on experience with technologies such as Juniper, Cisco, Arista, InfiniBand, firewalls, data center switching platforms, and circuit management technologies; and familiarity with merchant silicon networking platforms such as Broadcom and Mellanox.
Responsibilities include executing network changes safely and efficiently using established procedures, tools, and operational best practices; participating in a rotational support model, including on-call responsibilities and incident response activities; monitoring network health and proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving service-impacting issues; and collaborating with engineering, operations, and support teams to maintain network stability and service availability.
