Lead Inspector

This is a 1st shift position at Superior Metals in Chuckey, TN. This is a M-TH 6a-4:30p, when working overtime they work Fridays and some Saturdays when needed. This position starts at $25/hr. Candidate should have a good work ethic and attendance history and be flexible to work overtime if needed. Education high school diploma or equivalent Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to hot/cold temperatures, and concrete floors.

Responsibilities

• 1-2 years of experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment preferred (metal stampings, forming, and welding)
• Ability to read and understand blue print specifications, customer, and regulatory requirements
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Experience using measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gages, tape measure, and scales
• Ability to perform first article, work in-progress, as well as final inspection with precise measurements to assure compliance with customer specifications
• Ability to accurately and neatly complete required paperwork
• Ability to evaluate incoming material according to specifications
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using units of dimension and weight measurements
• Must have good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of basic computer skills
• Knowledge of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) is a plus
• Basic understanding of ISO 9001 quality management principles
