Excel Care at Norwood is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to support the daily operations of our skilled nursing facility. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and takes pride in ensuring our facility is well cared for and running smoothly.

Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities:

• Assist with general maintenance: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry

• Complete repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems

• Respond to work orders and maintenance requests from staff

• Help maintain clean and safe common areas, resident rooms, and outdoor spaces

• Support seasonal tasks like snow removal and landscaping

• Monitor supplies and tools, and report any hazards or needed repairs

• Help with room setups, furniture moves, and facility inspections

• Always follow safety and infection control protocols

Maintenance Assistant Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Maintenance/skilled trade experience preferred

• Basic knowledge of building systems and tools

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work

• Detail-oriented with strong safety awareness

• Reliable team player with good communication skills

• Flexible availability (weekends/on-call as needed)

• Healthcare or long-term care experience a plus
