Registered Nurse (Operating Room)Naval Medical Center San Diego – San Diego, CAOverviewSalary Range $57.00 - $65.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Education Level 2 Year Degree Category Health CareDescriptionCompass Government Solutions is currently recruiting qualified Registered Nurses (Operating Room) to provide perioperative nursing support services at Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, California.This position supports surgical care, operating room readiness, and perioperative services in a military medical center environment.Work Schedule Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600–2300. Shifts provided between Monday through Friday will normally be scheduled for:8-hour shifts with an uncompensated 30-minute lunch break, or10-hour shifts for any four days between Monday through Friday with an uncompensated 60-minute lunch breakScheduling is based on department needs. In no instance will the Healthcare Worker (HCW) be required to provide services more than 80 hours per two-week period.Duty Hours: NoneOn-Call Hours: NoneCall-Back Hours: NoneOverage Hours: NoneJob Duties:Coordinate patient care in collaboration with healthcare professionalsFacilitate optimal clinical outcomes related to patient care, quality, and cost effectivenessEnsure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with MTF policies, procedures, and guidelinesPerform physical examinations and obtain health historiesProvide health promotion, counseling, and patient educationAdminister medications, wound care, and other nursing interventionsCollaborate with and provide clinical guidance to healthcare team members in the coordination of patient careMake patient care assignments based on scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnelRecognize adverse signs and symptoms and respond appropriately in emergency situationsCommunicate and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding treatment plans and patient careMake referral appointments and coordinate specialty care as appropriatePerform nursing services identified within the Task OrderConduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomesProvide direct perioperative nursing care, including circulating duties, patient assessment, coordination with surgical and anesthesia teams, maintenance of aseptic technique, documentation, equipment readiness, and adherence to AORN and Joint Commission standardsFunction as team leader and provide relief charge coverage as requiredQualificationsDegree: Associate Degree in Nursing requiredEducation: Graduate from a college or university accredited by: Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years as a Registered NurseLicensure & Certification: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferredRequired Knowledge & Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative standards and infection control practicesSecurity / Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible for access to U.S. Government computer systems and networks.
