Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Tele Observation Unit position requiring 2 years of acute MedSurg experience and a compact or AZ RN license.

Details

• Acute care setting in a MedSurg unit with telemetry capability on all 10 beds
• 12-hour night shift schedule
• 36-hour per week guaranteed hours with no cancellations
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, and 1:4 for pediatric patients, based on acuity
• Supported by tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs on the unit
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Float to all MedSurg units and ICU to take MedSurg overflow patients
• Uses Allscripts EMR
• Level 3 trauma center

Requirements

• Active RN license (AZ or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• MedSurg acute care setting experience required
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Provide MedSurg nursing care with telemetry monitoring capability
• Any color scrub permitted, but scrubs are not provided
• 8 hours of orientation provided
• Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
