Pastor of Discipleship & Administration

Principal Function          

Oversee all discipleship ministries of Eastern Hills Baptist Church including Sunday School, as well as overseeing the day-to-day business affairs of the church.

I. Responsibilities

A.  Discipleship

1.       Give leadership to the planning, structure, and evaluation of the Sunday School program.

2.       Coordinate discipleship, ministries, and evangelism strategies.

3.       Work with Nominating Committee in securing and training leadership within areas of responsibility.

4.       Plan and promote special events.

5.       Assist the pastor in preaching, teaching, and counseling opportunities.

B.      Administration

1.       Provide oversight and direction for the day-to-day operations of the church and its facilities and manage the business affairs of the church on a daily basis. 

2.       Supervise administrative staff, building maintenance staff, food service personnel, daycare administration, and other support staff.

3.       Oversee food service programs, maintenance schedules, inventories, security, and the general upkeep of facilities, equipment, and vehicles.

4.       Ensure that policies are developed and followed for purchasing and reimbursement. 

5.       Provide guidance and direction to trustees, committees, and staff in legal, insurance, and organizational matters. 

6.       Prepare and administer budgets for all areas of responsibility.

7.       Serve as a member of the Church Council.

8.       Develop and maintain an annual budget for administrative operations of the church.

II. Administrative

A.      Maintain regular office hours.

B.      Attend and participate in regular staff meetings and retreats.

C.      Support and encourage staff members in their areas of ministry.

D.      Accomplish other duties as assigned.

III. Spiritual Life

A.      The conduct, character, and Christian deportment of this staff member shall conform to the teachings of I Timothy 3:1-7 and to the requirements set forth by this church for its deacons and staff members.

B.      This staff member shall strive to be spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically strong.

C.      This staff member shall pursue holiness through personal Bible study and prayer.

IV. Unity

A.      The faith and practice of this staff member must be in alignment with Southern Baptist doctrine as outlined in The Baptist Faith and Message.

B.      This staff member will support the vision of the Pastor and promote unity within the fellowship of Eastern Hills Baptist Church.

V. Remuneration

Salary and benefits package will be based on the recommendation of the Personnel Committee and subject to the approval of the church
