We are seeking PRN PACU Registered Nurses (RNs) to support ambulatory surgery centers in the Indianapolis, IN area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from sedation or general anesthesia in an ambulatory surgery setting
- Monitor and assess vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and level of consciousness
- Maintain a clear and open airway through appropriate positioning, suctioning, and oxygen therapy as needed
- Assess patients for post-operative complications, including bleeding, respiratory distress, and adverse reactions to anesthesia
- Manages recovery from sedation, assessing and addressing side effects such as pain, nausea, and vomiting
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain control and anti-nausea medications
- Prepare patients for discharge by evaluating readiness and ensuring stability
- Provide post-operative education and discharge instructions to patients and family members
- Communicate patient status and recovery progress with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and clinical staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)

- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current RN license in the state of Indiana
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU or post-anesthesia recovery experience required
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience with airway management and post-anesthesia recovery preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
