$125,000 to $160,000 DOE | 20% Origination Credit | $10,000 Signing Bonus | Established Removal Defense Practice | Immediate Case Ownership
Experienced in removal defense, fully bilingual in Spanish and English, and ready for a firm where you can continue building your expertise and taking on greater responsibility over time? Base compensation is $125,000 to $160,000 depending on experience, plus a 20% origination credit on every client you bring through the door.
The Law Offices of Robert M. Bell, P.A. is a Hollywood, Florida firm handling family-based, humanitarian, and removal defense immigration matters for clients across South Florida. The firm has built its reputation on professionalism, integrity, and exceptional client service, and it takes the hard cases and sees them through.
This is an opportunity to step into an established immigration practice with an active caseload, experienced support, and meaningful ownership of your matters from the outset. As you grow within the firm, there is room to deepen your removal defense expertise, take on increasing responsibility, contribute to the development of the practice, and build a client base of your own with the firm's name and support behind you.
About the RoleYour practice will center on removal defense, including master calendar and individual hearings, with opportunities to handle bond matters, motions practice, applications for relief, USCIS interviews, and related immigration matters based on your experience.
The firm is looking for an attorney with a strong removal defense foundation who is ready to take meaningful ownership of cases. More experienced attorneys will have the opportunity to step directly into a high level of independence, while candidates earlier in their removal defense careers will have access to senior counsel and an experienced support team as they continue developing their skills and taking on greater responsibility.
Business development is welcome, not required. Any client you originate carries a 20% origination credit paid on top of your base. Attorneys interested in developing their own referral relationships will have the opportunity to do so as they become established within the practice.
Key Responsibilities- Represent individuals in removal proceedings in both detained and non-detained settings
- Attend master calendar hearings, individual hearings, and bond hearings
- Prepare and file motions to reopen, motions to terminate, motions for bond, and motions to continue
- Prepare and file applications for relief including asylum, adjustment of status, waivers, and cancellation of removal
- Represent clients at USCIS interviews
- Conduct legal research and draft legal briefs
- Develop case strategy and manage matters through resolution
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and government agencies
- Manage case deadlines, filings, and follow-up across an active caseload
- Provide consultations to prospective clients
Requirements
Experience and Background- Minimum 1 year of substantive immigration law experience, including meaningful hands-on removal defense experience. Five or more years of dedicated removal defense experience is strongly preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated experience appearing in immigration court, with sufficient courtroom exposure to independently handle matters appropriate to your level of experience.
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Experience independently managing removal matters, developing case strategy, working directly with clients, and maintaining critical filing and hearing deadlines.
- Preferred: extensive experience with master calendar hearings, individual hearings, bond hearings, detained dockets, motions practice, and applications for relief including asylum, cancellation, waivers, and adjustment of status.
- Preferred: experience with humanitarian and family-based immigration matters alongside removal work
- Active member in good standing with any U.S. State Bar Association
- Full fluency in Spanish and English, written and spoken, and a passion for advocating for immigrants
- A strong interest in building a long-term career within an established immigration practice and continuing to grow your removal defense expertise.
- Clear, consistent communication with clients and government agencies, and a service-first approach to challenging matters
- Organized and detail-oriented, with demonstrated ability to manage an active caseload and critical deadlines.
- A pay range built around meaningful removal defense experience and benchmarked against the South Florida market
- 20% origination credit on clients you bring in, paid on top of base, with no cap
- An established removal practice with an active caseload — no book-building required to have meaningful work
- Substantive hearing experience across master calendar, individual, and bond dockets
- Exposure to both detained and non-detained removal matters
- Meaningful case ownership with access to senior counsel and an experienced support team
- The opportunity to deepen your removal defense expertise and take on increasing responsibility as you grow within the firm
