Details Stepdown unit role with frequent floating to ICU and MedSurg units 21-bed unit Patient ratios: Stepdown 1:4-5, ICU 1:2, MedSurg 1:5-6 Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00 Every other weekend (EOW) required Floating required across Stepdown, ICU, and MedSurg units Weekly orientation held every Wednesday Manages non-titrating drips including Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene Cares for vascular patients (fem-pop, CEA), NSTEMI, and post-cardiac cath with intervention patients Manages CIWA protocol patients receiving IVP Ativan Provides peritoneal dialysis care Manages stable BiPAP, heated high flow ( Performs wound care and nebulizer treatments Hemodialysis performed in the Dialysis Department Uses Meditech EMR Requirements Active SC RN license or compact license required BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of PCU/stepdown/ICU experience required ICU experience required for consideration Meditech charting experience preferred Community hospital experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and high flow nasal cannula Experienced in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips Experienced in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE Experienced with pacemakers and pre/post cardiac cath care Additional Information Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate Must be comfortable floating frequently between Stepdown, ICU, and MedSurg units in accordance with facility floating policies Appropriate orientation provided when floating to a new unit Royal blue and white scrubs required Expected to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff Minimal to no RTO accommodated, especially during the first weeks of the assignment Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure to be eligible for rehire First-time travelers may be considered American Traveler Job ID P-730076.
