Job Details Position Title: Environmental Climate Action and Equity Specialist Job Code: JC-522681 Position #: 910-156-4713-XXX Classification: Senior Environmental Planner Salary Range: $8,678.00 - $10,783.00 Number of Positions: Multiple Location: San Joaquin County Telework: Hybrid Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Department: Caltrans Department Website: Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Office Chief for Environmental Engineering, Planning, & Management, the incumbent is responsible for developing, recommending, and establishing procedures and instructions related to climate change, induced demand/VMT, equity/environmental justice, and future initiatives in support of district environmental generalists for preparation of environmental documents. The role requires development of procedures and instructions related to environmental requirements for project planning, programming, and delivery with a focus on CEQA and NEPA. The incumbent will research state and national trends and cutting‑edge practices in environmental planning and write memos, guidance, and deliver training. The position requires a broad environmental planning background, including experience in transportation characteristics, issues, planning, and project delivery concepts, and the department’s major activities. Eligibility Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Environmental Planner Exam. Those without current eligibility must be on the state examination list.
