Customer Service Expectations: Create an immediate positive, welcoming customer experience

·       Greet all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develop a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks, and food items, etc.

·       Actively practicing the art of “Making A Customer’s Day”

·       Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions. 

·       Respond proactively and calmly to de-escalate negative interactions

·       Answer telephone in a respectful, friendly manner

·       Represents the mission of The Borough (put it here)

·       Ensure overall “positive flow” of FOH functions

Beverage & Food Service Responsibilities:

·        Create and sell coffee drinks, hot chocolate, tea, chai, and iced drinks following provided recipes along with fountain sodas and pre-packed cold drinks

·        Graciously receives and follows through feedback and directions from manager

·        If 18 or older, sell and serve a limited menu of beers and wine by the glass along with a few wine based-mixed drinks following provided recipes

·        Sell and serve daily changing baked goods, snacks, ice cream, gift cards, and merchandise

·        Understand, sell and serve a diverse offering of breakfast and lunch menu items, delivering orders to seated or waiting customers and delivery drivers

·        Actively practice the art of “upselling”

General Operating Responsibilities:

·       Follow opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned by manager

·         Restock inventory as needed throughout shift. Alert manager of inventory needs

·        Keep front-of-house and hallway including countertops, sinks, chairs, floor, windows, equipment (inside and out) and restrooms, as assigned, clean

·        Assist with moving and restocking shipments of food and other supplies

·        Report potential safety hazards to the manager

·        Report all employee accidents to the manager

·        Inform the manager on duty of any operational inconsistencies

·        Other duties as requested by the manager

Qualifications:

·        Previous barista and hospitality experience

Understanding of coffee and tea regions and the various differences in flavor, roasts, and blends or willingness to learn

·        Consistent, professional interpersonal, rapport-building skills with customers and co-workers

·        Ability to work positively and effectively during high volume periods and to remain focused on  position responsibilities during lower volume periods

·        Ability to graciously receive and follow-through when feedback, suggestions, and directions are given by manager

·        Familiarity with POS systems

·        KMCO Health Department Food Handling Permit

·        Ability to take photos and create Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok content with manager oversight

·        High School Diploma or Equivalency

Work Hours & Schedule:

·       Typical work week: 36-40 hours

·       Schedule: TBD with some flexibility

·       Opening and closing shifts generally begin/end 30 minutes before/after open hours. At minimum one day between Monday through Saturday is a day off. Current operating hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4pm and Saturday 8am-2pm. Typically, the first Friday of each month, closing time is extended to 7:30pm

·       Occasional earlier or later hours may be required for special events or catering orders
