Job Details Position: NICU Registered Nurse Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job Healthcare Setting: Level IV NICU within a children’s hospital Location: Lubbock, TX 79410 Start Date: 10/19/2026 Assignment Length: 26 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shifts Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 Orientation: 40 hours Schedule: Self-scheduling with block scheduling expected Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period Float Requirement: May float to PRN Pediatrics, PICU, or pediatric ED as needed Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand; compact license required at submission Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience Level III NICU experience preferred BLS and NRP required Epic charting experience required Experience caring for neonatal patients with ratios of 1:2-4 Ability to work weekends and meet scheduled holiday requirements Comfortable floating between nearby units or sister facilities as needed Strong clinical skills in neonatal assessment, respiratory support, and high-acuity patient care Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates in a Level IV NICU Monitor and support infants with prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HIE, and surgical needs Manage advanced NICU therapies and equipment, including CPAP, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, and central lines Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies according to neonatal standards Perform assessments, document patient care in Epic , and communicate changes in condition promptly Provide family education, status updates, and compassionate bedside support Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care Maintain safety, infection control, and developmentally appropriate care practices Float as assigned and remain flexible to meet unit and patient care needs This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NICU Registered Nurse seeking Texas travel nursing jobs in a supportive pediatric environment.
