Director, Launch Lead, Animal Health

The Director, Launch Lead manages integrated planning and execution of Animal Health product launches within Merck's Global Commercial Operations. This role coordinates cross-functional teams, tracks launch readiness and performance, and provides senior leadership with transparent reporting from regulatory approval through post-market phases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain product-specific strategic launch plans using established frameworks from pre-approval through post-launch
• Lead the Launch Squad and facilitate governance forums to ensure cross-functional alignment and accountability
• Monitor launch milestones, KPIs, risks, and interdependencies; escalate material issues through appropriate channels
• Coordinate global, regional, and market inputs to ensure integrated, realistic, and adaptable launch plans
• Build and maintain relationships across Animal Health leadership and provide strategic advisory on launch priorities and trade-offs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering, veterinary medicine, or related field
• At least 10 years of business experience in Animal Health, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or regulated industries
• Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional programs and strategic operational plans
• Proven ability to influence and lead globally dispersed teams without direct authority
• Strong knowledge of product lifecycle, commercial strategy, regulatory requirements, and supply considerations
• Advanced degree (MBA, master's, doctorate) or professional certification preferred
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills
