Lead Veterinarian (DVM) – Portland, OR
A well-established veterinary practice is seeking a Lead Veterinarian (DVM) to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about high-quality medicine, team mentorship, and helping guide the continued success of a collaborative and patient-focused hospital. The ideal candidate is a strong clinician who enjoys supporting colleagues, fostering a positive culture, and leading by example while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
ResponsibilitiesPerform physical examinations, diagnostics, and treatment planning
Conduct routine surgical and dental procedures
Support and mentor veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
Promote high standards of patient care and medical quality
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Educate clients on preventive care and treatment options
Assist with hospital initiatives focused on growth, efficiency, and team success
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
Active veterinary license or eligibility for licensure
Previous veterinary experience required
Leadership or mentorship experience preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care
