Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.Job DescriptionPosition Purpose:Responsible for performing a variety of routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks in the movement and processing of various waste in various container size/type. Tasks could include: Follow procedures & direction, perform manual labor, proper usage of PPE, operate mobile equipment (manual and powered), operate fixed / stationary equipment, loading & unloading containers, perform equipment inspections, identification of various container size/type, scanning container movements, consolidation of containers & material, staging containers in designated area, recognize markings & labels. Tasks will be performed on a daily basis in the designated processing area as assigned by Leads & Supervisors in order to meet processing objectives for material disposal.Primary Duties /Responsibilities:Has mastered all four components (CSB/ADA, TRB, Bulk Ramp and TSDF) and can work in any area while maintaining operational efficiency.Requires minimal direct supervisionUnderstand and follow procedures & processesRecognize various container size & typeRecognize labels & markingsAbility to utilize systems to create processing paperwork or labelsLoad and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers. etc.) using mechanical or manual meansConstruct boxes and/or fiber containers and stacks, labels, and loads containers.Use a variety of tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, jackhammers, etc.Transport hazardous waste materials from storage facilities within the facility as directed.Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums and/or containers according to RCRA and disposal guidelines.Assist in completing all necessary paperwork for processing materials to include transportation of materials to and from various locations.Perform general housekeeping duties.Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.Inspection material handling equipment as directed.Assist in the loading/unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at designated sites utilizing appropriate equipment for which you are appropriately trained.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation / Experience / Background:High School diploma or GED equivalent9 to 12 months general labor experienceForklift experience preferredKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:Ability to communicate through reading and writingTrained in the use of material handling equipmentRequired Certification / Licenses / Training:40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferredAdditional InformationBenefits: Veolia's comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more.
