Housekeeper

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of assigned apartments and common areas. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs general housekeeping duties in apartments, such as: vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting of all cleared flat surfaces. * Performs general housekeeping duties of hallways and common areas as directed by supervisor. * Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition QUALIFICATIONS: * At least one year previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or retirement community. * Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively with Residents, and perform simple arithmetic. * Performs other duties as assigned. CRITICAL FUNCTION: * This position is essential to the safety of our residents and staff; and to the operation and function of the community. Employee may be recalled to report to work for an emergency, unusual occurrence, resident care need, visit from regulatory/governing agencies or any other event deemed necessary by the Executive Director, Administrator, and designee. What you will bring: Our ideal candidate will be reliable and follow safety procedures and duties assigned by a supervisor. * Ability to multitask, work on projects while answering phone and greeting visitors. * Must display a friendly, courteous and helpful attitude toward the residents and the public. * Ability to communicate effectively in English. Able to perform simple mathematics and basic knowledge of computer programs. * High School graduate.
