Our Bagdad operations in Arizona offers housing at a subsidized rate, a family-friendly atmosphere and numerous amenities including an aquatic center, golf course and fitness center. Located 100 miles northwest of Phoenix, Bagdad is home to the world's first commercial - scale concentrate leach processing facility, as well as one of the longest continuously operating solvent extraction/electrowinning plants in the world.  Visit the Bagdad town website  to learn more.What You Will DoResponsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Geology department, including the direct coaching of personnel involved in the design and execution of exploration, resource modeling, development and mine Geology programs.Provide leadership and technical guidance to the Geology departmentInitiate and direct drill programs, the preparation of short- and long-term resource models that meet corporate model standards, slope stability studies, geological reports,and recommendations of geological and exploration initiatives to managementPrepare and manage operating and capital budgets that are adequate to complete projectsProvide technical support to Mine Operations and short- and long-range planningCommunicate performance standards, establish performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews with direct reportsEnsure alignment of Geology goals with the organizational business objectives and goalsLiaison between Geology and other disciplines when requiredEnsure safe work environment and safe practicesMay represent the site on Company-sponsored steering teamsPerform other duties as requiredWhat You Bring To FreeportBachelor's degree in Geology or related Scientific discipline and seven (7) years of experience in Geology or related Scientific field, ORMaster's degree in Geology and five (5) years of experience in Geology or related Scientific fieldA successful track record in design and management of exploration and advanced development programsDemonstrated proficiency in design, management and completion of computerized resource modelsSupervisory experience with excellent and creative problem solving skillsKnowledge of the principles and methods used in complex geological analysesAble to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusionsAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingPreferredMine to mill or geo-metallurgical experienceExperience with ore control, geologic modeling, and drilling projectsExperience in active mine operations or near mine operations Ability to manage team of 20 or moreAbility to manage budget for geology departmentWhat We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $112,000-$160,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
