Registered Nurse (RN) in Critical Care

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience, Trauma 1 experience, and EPIC experience required. License: Valid RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications required Must-Have: - Trauma 1 experience - EPIC experience Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. This role involves providing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and nursing trends, technology, financial, and human resources within the facility's philosophy. Essential functions include performing all responsibilities and duties required by the unit. The RN implements procedures and theories related to their area of practice. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided is crucial. Completing the initial assessment upon patient admission and developing an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs is essential. The nurse implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifications to the plan of care are made based on continuous evaluation. Taking responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents is vital. Effective communication with colleagues helps resolve issues. Offering constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers is an important aspect of the role. Identifying and addressing one's learning needs is encouraged. In addition to general responsibilities, the nurse may float to various inpatient units, including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, and ICUs if applicable. Providing direct nursing care and collaborating with other multidisciplinary team members is essential for patient care. The RN conducts and documents assessments, nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Precepting staff and coordinating care with other multidisciplinary team members is expected to facilitate high-quality patient care. The nurse fulfills all departmental competencies and takes initiative in their professional development.
