ResponsibilitiesThe 2-year postdoctoral fellowship position is within the Brain Injury Research Center of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The fellowship aims to build capacity to conduct high-impact, clinically relevant, methodologically rigorous rehabilitation research.
Technical Duties:
Fellow’s duties will include scientific contributions to the research program of the Brain Injury Research Center (BIRC) of Mount Sinai, including the LIving with ViolencE-related Brain Injury: Optimizing Cognitive and Psychological Wellness through The LIVEwell Brain Health Study and the Late Effects of TBI (LETBI) and associated clinical and biospecimen material and data. The fellow will be responsible for initiating and implementing new analyses, including and extending beyond primary aims of funded grants. The fellow will also be expected to pursue their own areas of research, which include the neuropathology of TBI and its associations with clinical phenotypes and in-vivo diagnosis, education and advocacy to improve brain health for those living with a history of head trauma, and intervention development. The fellow will contribute to independent and/or collaborative grant writing to pursue that line of research. The fellow will contribute to the generation of knowledge translation materials, education, and results sharing with broad audiences.
QualificationsEducational and other Requirements for the position : Completed a doctoral or equivalent degree in a quantitative field.
Experience Required: Candidates will demonstrate potential for independent research (e.g., completed a quantitative dissertation, strong independent data analytic skills, peer-reviewed publications, multiple conference presentations, and/or at least 2 years of research experience). All candidates must have strong foundational skills in data analysis, and interest and commitment to rehabilitation research must be evident in prior experience, personal statement and/or letters of reference.
Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: Fellows will produce scientific publications, presentations, and grant proposal(s).

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
