ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and a dedication to patient safety.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing direct patient care in the ICU setting, following established protocols and procedures.
• Monitoring patients' vital signs and interpreting data, making timely decisions as needed.
• Administering medications and managing intravenous (IV) drips, including pressors and sedation.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Participating in huddle reports and bedside reporting for effective communication.
• Floating to other units as needed, including telemetry and emergency department ICU/telemetry holds.

Qualifications include:

• Active RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience preferred; 3 years of experience is highly preferred.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• No acrylic nails or gel polish allowed during assignments.

Shift details include:

• 12-hour night shifts, with a total of 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required.

Unit information includes:

• ICU unit with 32 beds, set up in pods of 8.
• Patient-to-nurse ratios of 2:1.
• Support from in-house hospitalist or intensivist available 24/7.
• Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services available 24/7.
• Orientation includes 8 hours with an ICU educator and 16 hours with a preceptor over two days.
• Common patient diagnoses include neuro, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and more.

Additional notes include:

• The role may require floating to different units as needed based on patient care requirements.
• The candidate must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays throughout the year.
