Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with neurology, stroke, cardiac, wound care, respiratory, ortho, oncology, and surgical diagnoses Patient ratio of 1:4-5 Uses Pyxis and Omnicell medication systems and SBAR communication Charts in EPIC Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (1900-0730) Weekend coverage required every other weekend Floating within the hospital required based on census Call required Requirements Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 2 years of recent experience required (hard stop) Trauma Level I and II experience preferred Prior charge nurse experience preferred Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams Skilled in isolation precautions and PPE use Experience with peripheral line care/management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and non-invasive airway management Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and oxygen tank use EPIC charting experience preferred One professional reference required (within 2 years) Current Nursys report required (pulled within 2 weeks of consideration), with no reportable hits Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a diverse patient population Scrub color requirement: Navy RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no changes allowed afterward Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible for consideration Local candidates accepted at a lower rate if within 50 miles of the facility First-time travelers are welcome to apply Travel experience is required for this role American Traveler Job ID P-772804.
