Research and Development Technician

Crary Industries is looking for an R&D Technician to join our team at our West Fargo location. In this hands-on role, you’ll work with engineers and other team members to build, test, troubleshoot, and improve new and existing products and processes. Position Objective The R&D Technician works on the production floor with product repairs, performance testing, prototyping and troubleshooting. This role will work cooperatively with other teams in manufacturing across multiple product lines. Job Description Diagnosing mechanical failures and conducting fabrication/repairs/part installations on equipment by referencing blueprints, models, specifications, and work order instructions Use hand tools, power tools, and other instruments to complete mechanical tasks Evaluate products for reparability and provide recommendations along with testing equipment after reassembly to ensure proper function Execute testing and data collection Keep shop area and test area clean and organized Builds prototype disposables, fixtures, equipment, sub-systems Develop test methods for new tests Training with/working with production Understand the use of testing equipment for component and system testing Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, forklifts, etc. Minimum Qualifications Ability to operate heavy equipment such as tractors, forklifts, etc Experience with welding Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems Experience using large power tools Experience with use of overhead cranes Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fabricate proto-type parts and machines Enhanced attention to details Able to organize and work independently Able to comply with all company rules and regulations Able to stand on hard surface for periods up to 3 hours in duration Able to analyze and plan Able to, unassisted, lift 50-pound weight from the floor and carry it 50 feet Able to stoop, bend and reach to full height Experience 2 + years of experience in a manufacturing environment 1+ years of experience with Welding preferred Job Type: Full-time Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Vision insurance Experience Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred) Welding: 1 year (Preferred) Mechanical: 2 years (Preferred) Work Location In person #J-18808-Ljbffr
