General Maintenance TechnicianThe General Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and minor mechanical repairs on material-handling and other distribution center equipment to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operations. This role uses a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to complete manufacturer-recommended maintenance tasks and supports general building upkeep, including basic electrical, plumbing, and structural repairs.ResponsibilitiesPerform assigned preventive maintenance tasks on material-handling and distribution center equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and established maintenance practices.Use CMMS-generated preventive maintenance worksheets to plan, document, and complete maintenance activities accurately and on time.Conduct minor mechanical repairs on conveyor systems and other distribution machinery to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.Maintain efficient operation of material handling equipment by clearing jams, removing foreign materials, and ensuring proper system flow.Perform general building maintenance tasks such as lamp replacement, basic construction work, minor wiring, overhead door repair, and plumbing repairs.Inspect equipment and building systems to identify potential issues and promptly report or address them as appropriate.Use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform maintenance and repair tasks.Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions.Follow established safety procedures and good maintenance practices while working on equipment and building systems.Collaborate with team members, respond to feedback, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintenance needs.Essential SkillsHands-on experience performing preventive maintenance on material-handling or distribution center equipment.Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs on conveyor systems and related machinery.Proficiency using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or similar maintenance tracking tools.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with basic hand and power tools.Basic electrical skills, including minor wiring and troubleshooting of equipment.Foundational plumbing skills to perform simple repairs and maintenance tasks.Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Capability to clear equipment jams and remove foreign materials safely to maintain equipment efficiency.Capacity to perform general building maintenance, including lamp replacement, simple construction tasks, overhead door repair, and minor structural work.Willingness and ability to take feedback and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a distribution center or industrial facility environment.Familiarity with good maintenance practices and manufacturer-recommended service procedures.Comfort working with material-handling equipment such as conveyors and related systems.Strong attention to detail in documenting maintenance tasks and following work instructions.Effective communication skills to work with maintenance team members and other departments.Problem-solving mindset with the ability to diagnose issues and propose practical solutions.Why Work Here?You join a team that values reliability, safety, and continuous improvement, where your technical skills directly support smooth operations and productivity. Work involves regular use of basic hand and power tools, interaction with CMMS software, and hands-on tasks across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You perform duties on the facility floor and within building areas, including overhead doors, lighting, and general infrastructure. The position may require standing, walking, bending, and working around moving equipment, with adherence to all safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment as required by facility policies.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Moreno Valley, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
