Project Manager

Tennyson Electric LLC is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to join our team in our Livermore, CA office. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure that they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project managers plan and designate project resources, monitor progress and keep stakeholders informed the entire way. Duties/Responsibilities: Thoroughly understand project scope and objectives. Understand resources needed to reach objectives and manage those resources in an effective and efficient manner. Understand project budget prepared by the Estimating team. Track project costs to meet budget. Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan. Provide project updates on a consistent basis to internal and external stakeholders regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress. Respond to all customer communication within 24 hours. Work with the General Foreman/foreman and the customer in order to prepare monthly billings for submission to the accounting department; Identify work outside of project scope and prepare change orders to capture the billings and cost associated with this work; Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution; Monitor progress and make timely adjustments as needed Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, or a related field not required by highly encouraged 2-4 years of project management and related experience, Or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience. Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle. Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline. Experience managing projects at a company(s) as both a General Contractor and Subcontractor Experience with Caltrans, California State public work projects, Traffic Control and low-voltage electric projects preferred Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Driving to work sites.
