Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in an acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in the emergency department, requiring quick assessment and intervention for patients of all ages experiencing trauma, medical, or mental health emergencies. The ER RN must demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple urgent situations effectively and deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

Job Details:

• Location: OUMC

• Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week

• Shift Notes: Night shift; may float to a 12-bed satellite emergency department (ED) - part of the organization

• Required Qualifications:

  • Education: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) required; BSN preferred
  • Certifications & Licenses: New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Hard Skills: Emergency Department (ED) experience, at least 8 stroke Continuing Education Units (CEUs), NIHSS certification
  • Soft Skills: Ability to perform in trauma scenarios, effective communication with patients and staff
  • Experience: 2.0 years of nursing experience, including recent ED experience within the past six months
  • Additional Skills: Demonstrated clinical knowledge and analytical abilities, ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services

  • On-Call Requirement: None
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Two in winter plus either a holiday evening or Black Friday
  • Certified in ED, 8 stroke CEUs, NIHSS required skills also include 4 trauma CEUs and ED experience
