Delivers all medication inDelivers all medication in compliance with all DEA, DPH & State Board of Pharmacy regulationsRepackages bulk supplies of medications in unit of use packaging in accordance with all Federal USP <795> & USP <800> standardsPrepares and delivers IV medications in accordance with Federal USP <797> & USP <800> standards. Maintains records pertaining to IV admixtures, maintains cleanliness in sterile areas, and completes QAChecks for expired medications within the pharmacy & automated dispensing cabinets. Ensures that all expired/damaged medications are disposed of in accordance with RCRA, OSHA & NIOSH regulationsLevel Specific ResponsibilitiesCoordinates the inspection of medication storage areas to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.Coordinates drug procurement and receiving.Coordinates automated dispensing systems inventory management.Coordinates diversion prevention monitoring.Responsible for training new staff in Central Pharmacy Operations. Tasks include but are not limited to: (1) Automated Dispensing Cabinet responsibilities, (2) Medication monitoring reports, (3) Restocking, and (4) Expiration Date CheckingResponsible for training new staff in extemporaneous non-sterile compounding and repackaging of medications in accordance to all USP guidelinesResponsible for training new staff in all Sterile Products areas. Training includes clean room operations, documentation/QA, and all areas of compounding including, but not limited to: (1) Low/Medium Risk compounding, (2) High Risk compounding, (3) TPN, (4) Neonatal, (5) Hazardous and chemotherapeuticResponsible for onboarding new staffAssists in the development and maintenance of training objectives and manuals in all areas of the pharmacyAssists with development of operational standardsRequired Qualifications5+ years hospital pharmacy experienceHigh School Diploma/GEDRegistered Technician with StateCPhTSterile compounding experiencePreferred QualificationsCPhT-AdvCSPTAbility to teach complex pharmaceutical calculationsExperience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or AccessPay Range$27.01 - $36.35The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
