Specialist, Health Information

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direct supervision of the Health Information Manager, Medical Records Department, the Health Information Specialist performs specialized health information activities necessary to organize, maintain and use the electronic health record consistent with the health record policies and standards. Follows strict confidential guidelines. Contributes to the overall success of the Health Information Management team. Complies with all Federal and State regulations and accrediting bodies including but not limited to HIPAA and Joint Commission.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent is required. One year of health care experience in a health care environment with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) is preferred. One year of strong customer service experience may be substituted for health care experience. Experience in a large health care facility is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Palo Alto Hospital
