Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Renal Med-Surg

Location: Ohio

We are actively seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic 21-bed Renal/Medical-Surgical unit. This unit specializes in the care of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis needs, and complex medical-surgical conditions. The ideal candidate is well-versed in managing renal-related complications and excels in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover.

Shift Details:

• 36 hours per week
• Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients.
• Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry.
• Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Float as needed to similar Med-Surg units, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders.

Qualifications:

• Active Ohio RN license (required).
• Current BLS certification.
• A minimum of 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience (renal experience strongly preferred).
• Proven ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently.
• Epic EMR proficiency is mandatory (no training provided).

Additional Information:

• No on-call requirement.
• Must demonstrate adaptability, efficiency, and strong critical thinking in a high-volume setting.
• Competency test required on Day 1; failure results in immediate contract termination.
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week contract.
• All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission and added into the confirmation page for it to be honored.
