The Surgical Services team provides expert care in orthopedic, neurological, ENT, oral and maxillofacial, cancer, urologic, ophthalmologic, and minimally invasive robotic-assisted procedures, supporting patients through every stage of their surgical journey. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager, Surgical Services to provide operational and clinical leadership for our highly skilled perioperative team. Reporting directly to the RN Manager of Surgical Services , this leader will support a team of 29 caregivers and partner closely with surgeons, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams across the Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, ENT, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) service lines. The right candidate will have some leadership experience, with 1 or more years of RN Circulator work experience within all service lines of which this position supports. In this role, you will help foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, patient safety, and caregiver engagement while ensuring the highest standards of perioperative care. You will play a key role in daily department operations, staff development, quality initiatives, patient experience, and the achievement of strategic goals within one of Portland's premier surgical programs. Additional Posting Information: The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional Registered Nurse reporting to the unit director/manager who utilizes the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within assigned shift. The ANM is responsible for supporting the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit and providing managerial presence for all shifts. The ANM is responsible for managing clinical and non-clinical caregivers and providing input to the director/manager for evaluation purposes related to performance. Duties include but not limited to compliance to professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements; implementing and monitoring compliance to policies, processes and clinical priorities, coaching, mentoring and collaborating to deliver quality health care to patients.
