Bus Driver

Minimum Qualifications:

• Meet Michigan Commercial Driver License (CDL) requirements with B/P/S endorsement and any other endorsements that may be required by law preferred. Training may be availalbe for the right candidate.
• Enrolled in a state approved Beginning School Bus Driver Safety class, or have successfully completed either a State approved Beginning School Bus Driver Safety class or a State approved Six Hour Advanced School Bus Driver class within the preceding two years.
• Successful completion of a Road Skills Test approved by the Michigan Department of Education.
• Good physical and mental health, including the possession of a current State of Michigan School Bus Driver Medical Examiner Certificate.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Physically capable to handle all school vehicles.
• Regular and reliable in person attendance is an essential funciton of the job.
• Knowledge of the mechanics of driving a bus.
• Knowledge of State of Michigan law and requirements.
• Able to interact well with others.
• Adaptable to changing work requirements.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as Administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
