Systems Administrator / SQL Applications Administrator Burleson, TX Contract to Hire / W2 only / 40 hours per week CDW is seeking a versatile Systems Administrator / SQL Applications Administrator to support a growing business environment where operational applications, databases, and infrastructure are closely integrated. While this role includes traditional systems administration responsibilities, the primary focus is supporting business-critical applications, SQL databases, reporting, and data-driven operational processes. The ideal candidate combines strong systems administration experience with hands‑on expertise in SQL querying, scripting, reporting, and application support. This position is well‑suited for someone who enjoys troubleshooting across both infrastructure and business systems and can serve as a bridge between technical operations and business users. Key Responsibilities SQL & Database Administration Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, scripts, stored procedures, and reports. Support operational databases used for business‑critical applications. Troubleshoot database‑related issues affecting application performance and user operations. Perform database maintenance, data validation, backups, and data integrity reviews. Analyze data and create ad hoc reports to support business and operational needs. Assist with database migrations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives. Business Application Support Serve as the primary administrator and technical owner for key operational business systems. Support application integrations, workflows, reporting, and user access management. Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate with vendors when necessary. Work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and implement system improvements. Support data imports, exports, and system configuration changes. Systems Administration Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365. Support virtualization platforms, file systems, backups, and cloud services. Manage user accounts, permissions, and system security. Monitor system health, performance, and operational reliability. Assist with infrastructure projects and technology modernization initiatives. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in systems administration, application administration, or a related role. Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including query development and troubleshooting. Experience creating reports, analyzing data, and supporting operational business applications. Proficiency writing complex SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures. Experience supporting business users and translating operational requirements into technical solutions. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills across applications, databases, and infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting ERP, logistics, manufacturing, CRM, or other operational business systems. Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS, Power BI, or similar platforms. Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization.
