The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows of the future, shared solutions and standards, simplicity and lower costs, and manufacturable design.The Autonomy Engineering Manager leads the Autonomy Engineering group within Enterprise Engineering Flight Systems, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Flight Systems. This role balances both leadership and technical responsibilities, ensuring Business Units receive expert support in simulation, aerodynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), navigation, and systems engineering.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Team Leadership & DevelopmentBuild and manage a high-performing team of industry experts through strategic recruiting, hiring, and retentionProvide daily guidance, leadership, and mentoring to team membersConduct regular performance reviews and ensure appropriate professional development opportunitiesManage task assignments, workload balancing, and project allocation across the teamBusiness PartnershipCollaborate with Business Units to understand requirements, define expectations, and establish deliverablesDevelop multi-year resource planning aligned with strategic objectivesTrack and report key performance metrics and schedule adherenceEnsure the team consistently meets or exceeds internal customer expectationsStrategic DirectionPartner with the Senior Director and other leaders to shape and execute the strategic vision for Flight SystemsIdentify opportunities for innovation and process improvementEnsure technical excellence across all supported disciplinesTechnical ContributionProvide hands-on engineering expertise in one or more specialized areas (simulation, aerodynamics, CFD, navigation, or systems engineering)Apply technical knowledge to guide team solutions and approachMinimum Qualifications:Education & ExperienceAdvanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field7-10 years of experience in simulation, aerodynamics, CFD, navigation, or systems engineeringDemonstrated success leading technical teams in complex engineering environmentsTechnical KnowledgeWorking understanding of the complexities and interdependencies across multiple disciplines within flight systemsPractical experience in at least one of the core technical areas supported by the teamKnowledge of aerospace systems and spaceflight operations preferredLeadership SkillsExceptional communication and interpersonal abilitiesProven talent for building and developing high-performing technical teamsStrong project and resource management capabilitiesCompensation Range for:WA applicants is $150,743.00 - $211,039.50Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
