Managing Attorney / Senior Litigation Attorney - Miami-Dade Office
$125k - $175kProperty Management Law Solutions, PLLC
Job Description
Property Management Law Solutions, PLLC (PMLS)
\nMiami-Dade County, Florida
\nProperty Management Law Solutions, PLLC (“PMLS”) is expanding into Miami-Dade County and is seeking a highly experienced litigation attorney to help establish, operate, and grow our South Florida office.
\nThis is not a traditional associate position. We are looking for an attorney who is capable of functioning with substantial independence, taking ownership of clients and cases, and helping build PMLS’s presence in one of Florida’s largest real estate markets.
\nThe ideal candidate will be an experienced Florida civil litigator who combines strong legal ability with the judgment, initiative, organization, and business maturity necessary to help operate a law office.
\nAbout PMLS
\n \nPMLS is a growing Florida law firm focused on representing:
\n- \n
- Property owners; \n
- Residential and commercial landlords; \n
- Professional property management companies; \n
- Multifamily housing operators; \n
- Real estate investors; and \n
- Other businesses and professionals involved in the ownership and management of real property. \n
Our practice includes:
\n- \n
- Residential and commercial landlord-tenant litigation; \n
- Real estate and property litigation; \n
- Commercial and residential lease disputes; \n
- Evictions and possession actions; \n
- Unlawful detainer and ejectment; \n
- Breach-of-contract litigation; \n
- Property damage and monetary claims; \n
- Fair housing and discrimination matters; \n
- Premises and landlord-liability claims; \n
- Partition, quiet title, boundary, ownership, and other real-property disputes; \n
- Injunctive and declaratory actions; \n
- Bankruptcy issues affecting leases and landlord rights; \n
- Subsidized and regulated housing matters; and \n
- Other civil litigation affecting property owners and property management companies. \n
PMLS represents clients throughout Florida and is continuing to expand its geographic reach and litigation practice.
\n \nThe Opportunity
\nThe attorney selected for this position will play a significant role in establishing and developing PMLS’s Miami-Dade office. We are seeking someone who wants more than a docket of assigned cases. The right attorney will want to take lead of an office, clients, litigation strategy, and the growth of a practice.
\nResponsibilities will include:
\n- \n
- Managing an active civil litigation caseload; \n
- Serving as the primary attorney for Central and South Florida clients; \n
- Developing litigation strategy from case intake through resolution or trial; \n
- Drafting and reviewing substantive pleadings, motions, discovery, memoranda, and settlement documents; \n
- Conducting and defending depositions; \n
- Handling motion practice and evidentiary hearings; \n
- Representing clients at mediation, arbitration, and trial; \n
- Advising professional property managers and owners regarding operational and legal issues; \n
- Supervising and working effectively with paralegals and support staff; \n
- Providing legal advice to clients and maintaining excellent client communication and responsiveness; \n
- Developing relationships within the South Florida property-management and real-estate industries; \n
- Assisting with the growth and development of the Miami-Dade office; and \n
- Helping implement PMLS systems, procedures, technology, and professional standards within the new office. \n
Who We Are Looking For
\nThe successful candidate should have:
\n- \n
- Substantial Florida civil litigation experience, 8+ years; \n
- Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar; \n
- Significant experience independently managing contested civil litigation; \n
- Experience taking depositions, conducting discovery, arguing motions, attending mediation, and preparing cases for trial; \n
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills; \n
- Excellent judgment and the ability to make litigation decisions without constant supervision; \n
- Experience managing clients, deadlines, staff, and competing priorities; \n
- Strong organizational and case-management skills; \n
- A high degree of personal initiative and accountability; \n
- Comfort using modern law-office technology and case-management systems; \n
- An entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in helping build a growing law practice; and \n
- The professional maturity to represent PMLS in the Miami-Dade legal and real-estate communities. \n
Experience in one or more of the following is required:
\n- \n
- Real estate litigation; \n
- Landlord-tenant litigation; \n
- Commercial litigation; \n
- Property-management representation; \n
- Commercial lease disputes; \n
- Construction or property disputes; \n
- Creditor rights; \n
- Fair housing; \n
- Community-association litigation; \n
- Premises liability; and \n
- Other litigation involving owners, operators, investors, or real property. \n
This Position Is Particularly Suited For an Attorney Who:
\n- \n
- Has reached the point in his or her career where greater autonomy is important; \n
- Is confident managing litigation without being micromanaged; \n
- Enjoys direct relationships with sophisticated business clients; \n
- Wants an opportunity to help build rather than simply occupy a position; \n
- Is comfortable being accountable for the performance of an office and its cases; \n
- Understands that exceptional client service requires responsiveness and practical legal advice; \n
- Wants to become an important part of a growing Florida law firm; and \n
- Is interested in a long-term opportunity that may expand in responsibility as the Miami-Dade practice grows. \n
What PMLS Offers
\nThis position offers the opportunity to join a focused and expanding law firm at an important stage of its growth. The attorney selected will have:
\n- \n
- Substantial autonomy over his or her cases; \n
- Direct relationships with property-management and real-estate clients; \n
- The opportunity to help shape and lead PMLS’s Miami-Dade practice; \n
- Access to modern case-management, legal research, document automation, and artificial-intelligence technology; \n
- Support from an established statewide practice; \n
- Opportunities to develop new business and professional relationships; \n
- A meaningful role in the firm's continued expansion; and \n
- Compensation commensurate with experience, capabilities, leadership responsibilities, and production. \n
We are particularly interested in attorneys who have demonstrated that they can run cases, manage clients, lead staff, solve problems, and get results without waiting to be told what to do next.
\n \nAnnual Salary: $125,000 to $175,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
\n \nExperienced Florida attorneys interested in discussing this opportunity should submit a résumé together with a description of:
\n- \n
- Their civil litigation experience; \n
- Types of cases they have independently managed; \n
- Deposition, hearing, mediation, and trial experience; \n
- Experience supervising staff or managing an office or practice group; and \n
- Experience in real estate, landlord-tenant, commercial, or property-related litigation. \n
All inquiries will be handled confidentially.
