Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse specialized in psychiatric care to provide quality mental health services within a hospital setting. The RN will support patient safety, treatment, and recovery through clinical expertise and compassionate bedside manner.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients' mental health status and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers and recreational therapists, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Utilize mechanical lifts and other specialized equipment to ensure patient safety and mobility.
• Maintain documentation within Meditech Expanse system, ensuring compliance with unit policies.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and assist with discharge planning and family communication.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse license in good standing with applicable state board.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, preferably in psychiatric or geriatric settings.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform procedures on psychiatric and geriatric patients.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends, and adapt to occasional floating requirements.
