Site Reliability Engineer / L3 Support

Salary: $110,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements:

• We need a U.S. citizen who is eligible to work on systems supporting FedRAMP High workloads.
• We are looking for 3-6 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or senior production support.
• We require experience supporting mission-critical cloud-based production environments.
• We need a solid grasp of Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals.
• We expect experience troubleshooting distributed applications running on Kubernetes.
• We prefer experience with public cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• We value hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management.
• We need strong scripting or programming ability in Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, or similar languages.
• We expect familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry.
• We need experience analyzing logs, metrics, and traces to diagnose production incidents.
• We expect a practical understanding of incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis.
• We look for strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capability.
• We require excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: experience working in FedRAMP High, DoD IL5/IL6, or similar regulated settings.
• Preferred: experience running Kubernetes in production.
• Preferred: experience with AWS services such as EKS, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, VPC networking, and AWS Backup.
• Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Preferred: knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio.
• Preferred: awareness of security best practices including IAM, least privilege, vulnerability management, and compliance monitoring.
• Preferred: experience with PagerDuty, Jira Service Management, or similar incident platforms.
• Preferred: an AWS certification at Associate or Professional level.

• We own the operational health, reliability, and availability of our FedRAMP High cloud platform.
• We monitor the health, performance, availability, and security of production services.
• We proactively spot emerging problems using telemetry, logs, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• We investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex incidents across application and infrastructure layers.
• We serve as the L3 escalation point for issues unresolved by L1 or L2 support.
• We participate in an on-call rotation for critical production incidents.
• We lead incident response, including coordination, communication, and post-incident reviews.
• We perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to prevent repeat issues.
• We create and maintain runbooks, dashboards, alerts, and standard operating procedures.
• We improve observability by strengthening monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and service-level indicators.
• We partner with software engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and resilience.
• We automate operational tasks and reduce repetitive manual work.
• We support production deployments, infrastructure changes, and maintenance windows.
• We assist with disaster recovery exercises, resilience testing, and operational readiness reviews.
• We ensure operational work aligns with FedRAMP High security and compliance requirements.
• We contribute to ongoing improvements in reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
