Our organization is on the lookout for fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists at various levels to become part of our dedicated team of six pediatric anesthesia specialists. This presents a remarkable chance to work in a collaborative and academically driven setting within the only academic medical center in the Capital Region.

Pediatric anesthesiologists at our institution are responsible for providing perioperative care across a diverse array of surgical specialties, which include:

• General pediatric surgery
• Orthopedics
• ENT
• Urology
• Plastic and reconstructive surgery
• Select neonatal and complex congenital cases

Our practice encompasses both healthy children and those with complex medical needs, offering opportunities to engage in anesthesia care for pediatric patients in settings beyond the main operating room, such as MRI, interventional radiology, and cardiac catheterization.

• Clinical Care: Deliver safe and high-quality anesthesia services for infants, children, and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
• Education: Provide both theoretical and practical training for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Research: Engage in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activities are actively supported and encouraged.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the perioperative team to enhance patient outcomes.
• Mentorship: Offer guidance and support to trainees and junior faculty in their professional and academic development.

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology (mandatory)
• Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or a recognized foreign equivalent

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $391,000 to $428,000, depending on rank. Additionally, there is compensation of approximately $25,000 for pediatric pager call, with extra pay for any calls that require in-person attendance. A generous sign-on bonus of $45,000 and a relocation allowance of $7,500 are also included. Numerous overtime opportunities are available for further compensation.
