This includes coordinating with the Pipeline Control and Commercial organizations to support, develop and implement controls to optimize utilization of services in an effort to increase revenue.Commercial Optimization - Western InterstatesDay in the Life:As a Commercial Optimization Senior supporting Western Interstates, you will gain an understanding of current and historical customer and pipeline storage utilization, coordinate maintenance related items while considering internal and external maintenance conditions, and disseminate market intelligence information to the commercial team, fostering collaboration and team development. In addition to supporting other teams as the need arises, additional responsibilities may include:Responsibilities/Expectations:Identifies market interest and enhances revenue for transportation and storage opportunities; identifies market needs and crafts short-term services to address the needs of customersSupports, develops and implements controls to better predict customer imbalances and utilization of servicesIdentifies services impacted when system capacity is limited due to unplanned outages or when flow dynamics are predicted to changeCoordinates with internal business partners on tariff changes and expansion project implementation as well as coordination of facility abandonmentsSupports gas control in short and long-term planning to ensure obligations are met and revenue streams are optimizedDevelops tariff modifications, coordinates across market centers, defines business requirements and trains others on changes to business practicesImproving Short-Term Firm and Park-and-Loan revenue, including identifying and implementing new revenue servicesCollaborating with Pipeline Control, System Planning, Operations, and Commercial reps on maintenance and optimization related activitiesAnalyzing location/constraint utilization and measured versus scheduled volumes to identify trends and patternsAssisting in the development and enhancement of risk management toolsMonitoring imbalances and customer activity to provide system recommendationsOther duties as assignedEducation/Years of Experience:Required: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field; a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the energy industryPreferred: MBA; experience in Commercial roles and familiarity with contracts and tariff provisionsOther Requirements:Demonstrates outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficiency in Microsoft Applications and PC skillsExperience in drafting and negotiating commercial documents and agreementsStrong analytic skills to identify process improvements, trends and predictive behaviorProprietary understanding of how Natural Gas challenges and complements alternative sources of EnergyExperience leading cross-functional project teams focused on commercial operationsExtensive knowledge of the specific business needs and challenges of our customers and in-depth understanding of most aspects of commercial systems#LI-CT1Why Houston? Big career opportunities in one of the world’s energy capitals, endless food spots and a diverse vibe—all without paying NYC or LA prices.
