Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Electrophysiology Lab Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 Year Minimum License: Active Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Scrub Experience Description: Registered Nurse position in the Electrophysiology Lab. The role requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in an Electrophysiology Lab. Involves scrubbing procedures and assisting with various cardiac procedures. Experience with pacemaker and defibrillator lead extraction/removal is necessary. Must be skilled in right heart catheterization. Candidates should be familiar with arrhythmia induction and baseline measurements. Experience in cardioversion is required. The nurse will assist in left atrial appendage closure procedures. Knowledge of pacemaker insertion is needed. Familiarity with tilt table studies is a must. Ability to perform paracentesis and administer blood products is essential. Working knowledge of thrombolytics and antiarrhythmics is required. Experience with monitoring procedural sedation is crucial. Should be capable of interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Candidates must adhere to infection prevention protocols. Understanding of radiation and laser safety is necessary. Must be proficient in using IV infusion pumps and starting and maintaining IVs. Experience with activated clotting time (ACT) monitoring is preferred. The role includes circulating and assisting in various procedures. Understanding of pressure ulcer assessment and prevention is vital. Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring is preferred. Knowledge of vascular closure systems is essential. An understanding of external compression devices is necessary. Knowledge of hypothermia protocols is required.
