Job Summary:
MRI Technologist MRI Location highlights an inpatient or outpatient setting where the role involves operating and preparing specialized imaging equipment to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures. This position requires applying technical judgment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images aligned with established protocols and patient needs.

Job Details:

• Performs MRI imaging procedures, positioning patients and coils to ensure optimal study quality.
• Provides patient education regarding imaging procedures, including explaining the process and necessary instructions.
• Reviews patient safety questionnaires before entering the MRI scan room.
• Labels all MRI images accurately as per departmental Standard Operating Procedures and evaluates images for technical acceptability.
• Ensures images are transmitted promptly to PACS and completed in the Radiology Information System.
• Maintains MRI room cleanliness and organizational standards, including removal of soiled linen and scanning patient documents.
• Monitors supplies and accessories, ensuring equipment is operated safely and appropriately.
• Records all required patient tracking information into the Radiology Information System and schedules exams accordingly.
• Reports any equipment issues or unsafe conditions to supervision and assists physicians as needed.
• Performs clerical duties when necessary and adheres strictly to safety and infection control policies to prevent ferromagnetic material entry into the scan environment.
• Attends professional development sessions, maintains licensure in accordance with state and departmental guidelines.
• New York State License (L.R.T.) and ARRT Certified in MRI required.
• Minimum education includes graduation from a JCERT approved School of Radiologic Technology, with a minimum of 37.5 hours scheduled per week in a rotating shift pattern.
• Candidate should have strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physics, and MRI protocols.
• Breast MRI proficiency and biopsy experience may be preferred.
• Minimum experience requirement: 0 years.
