We accept applications on an ongoing basis.Where You Will Work  Our Henderson mine and mill are an hour drive apart – separated by the Continental Divide and a 15-mile conveyor system (10 miles underground). The Henderson mine is an underground molybdenum mining operation located approximately 42 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire. It has been in operation since 1976 and today consists of a large block-cave, underground mining complex feeding a concentrator with a current capacity of approximately 32,000 metric tons per day. It can produce approximately 15 million pounds of molybdenum per year. The Henderson mill is located 15 miles west of the mine, between Dillon and Kremmling. Both sites are surrounded by US Forest Service land of the Arapaho National Forest, making it easy for our employees and their families to enjoy year-round hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing in the area. Plan, organize and direct financial and accounting functions, including tax activities, internal auditing, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, receipts and disbursements, general journals, fixed assets, financial statements and cost reports and analysis Ensure that department responsibilities are performed and completed in a timely and accurate mannerPrepare forecasts and profit and loss statementsProvide historical dataCompile and produce annual budget along with analysis to departments for variance analysis and cost reductionDevelop, implement and assess short and long term programs, goals and objectives for accounting departmentEnsure that accounting practices, records, controls and decisions are made according to GAAP, company policy and State and Federal controlsAs a member of the site Management Team, collaborate in the development of tactical and strategic plansContribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for Accounting function and all other departments at assigned siteAssist department heads with their budget preparationProvide site management with information and advice, including recommendations on selection of audit firms and other financial mattersEvaluate and contract with vendors for the provision of accounting and financial services and equipmentRepresent site on company-sponsored steering teamsProvide leadership and work directionEvaluate the performance of subordinate accounting staffPerform other duties as requiredWhat You Bring To Freeport Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related area and seven (7) years of broad-based accounting/reporting experience, including three (3) years of management/leadership experience;ORMaster’s degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related area and five (5) years of broad-based accounting/reporting experience, including three (3) years of management/leadership experiencePossesses and applies advanced knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures in accounting, budgeting and financial analysisKnowledge of and the ability to interpret State laws, regulations, and guidelines governing all aspects of mining operations including those relative to auditing, purchasing, risk management, budgeting and accountingAbility to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusionsAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsAbility to utilize personal computers and associated software, including Microsoft Office applications and relational databasesSkill in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employeesSkill in effective communication, both verbal and writtenPreferred QualificationsCPASAP and/or OneStream Systems experienceMining and/or Manufacturing Industry experienceWhat We Offer YouThe estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $112,000-$160,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
