Repair Technician

As a Repair Technician, you will engage in skilled technical work that involves diagnosing, replacing, repairing, and rebuilding oxygen tanks and systems for aircraft. You will utilize diagnostic equipment and a range of tools specific to the trade, applying principles and practices of electrical and electronics theory. Your role will require interpreting and following technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics, applying your knowledge of equipment design and function. You will adhere to industry and government-specific guidelines, especially concerning safety, health, and environmental practices. Additionally, you will assist in researching and developing new repair capabilities, which includes understanding new manuals and participating in training sessions both on and off site. You will also help maintain shop equipment and supplies, and complete various maintenance documents in accordance with FAA Regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, replace, repair, and rebuild oxygen tanks and systems for aircraft.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools specific to the trade.
  • Interpret and follow technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics.
  • Apply principles and practices of electrical and electronics theory.
  • Follow industry and government-specific guidelines related to safety, health, and environmental practices.
  • Assist with research and development of new repair capabilities.
  • Help maintain shop equipment and supplies.
  • Make computer entries and complete maintenance documents such as Service Reports and 8130-3's in accordance with FAA Regulations and company policies.

Essential Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with hand tools
  • Assembly and repair skills
  • Proficiency in mechanical assembly and production

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in component repair
  • Troubleshooting skills

Work Environment:

Work at an FAA Repair Station supporting the repair and service of life vests and oxygen tanks. The position offers two shifts: 1st shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm and 2nd shift from 2:30 pm to 11 pm. You will be required to train on the 1st shift before transitioning to the 2nd shift.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
