With proximity to major healthcare hubs and educational institutions, it is an appealing location for healthcare professionals looking to grow their careers in a supportive region with strong healthcare resources.In this role, the PTA will work within a Skilled Nursing Facility environment, focusing on adult and geriatric patients who require rehabilitation services to regain or maintain functional independence. Patients may be recovering from surgery, illness, injury, or managing chronic conditions such as orthopedic issues, neurologic disorders, and cardiopulmonary disease. The facility provides a structured, interdisciplinary approach to care, and the PTA will be an integral member of the rehab team.The typical day will include collaborating closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care. Responsibilities include implementing individualized treatment plans under the direction of a physical therapist, providing therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, and functional mobility activities. The PTA will assist patients with transfers, strengthening, and endurance programs, and will contribute to patient and caregiver education to support safe mobility and independence.Documentation of services provided, patient progress, and response to treatment will be completed in the facility's electronic medical record system, following SNF-specific guidelines and regulatory standards. The PTA will help monitor patient progress, provide input for care plan updates, and support discharge planning by assisting with home exercise programs and recommendations for continued services when appropriate. Maintaining compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards is a critical part of the role.This is a full-time, 13-week temp direct assignment with an expected schedule of 5 eight-hour day shifts per week, totaling approximately 40 hours. The role does not require on-call coverage, allowing for predictable work hours and the opportunity to enjoy the many amenities Winter Park and the surrounding Orlando area have to offer. Patient caseloads are typical of a busy SNF setting, with a focus on quality, safety, and functional outcomes rather than high-volume turnover.The working environment emphasizes collaboration and communication among rehabilitation staff and nursing teams.
