Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Ortho/Trauma/General Surgery)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 13–26 Week Contracts Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, trauma, and general surgery patients, including those with severe bone, joint, and soft tissue injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, and subdural hematomas
• Utilize unit systems including EPIC , Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and medication management
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5–6; candidates must be comfortable with these ratios
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding areas, as needed
• Work every other weekend as required
• May be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Orthopedic, neurological, and/or trauma nursing experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Must be open to floating within and near the facility per job description
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted; a local rate will apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
