Registered Nurse - General Surgery

The Nurse provides independent, competent care in a surgical hospital setting, demonstrating awareness of clinical situations and managing long-term goals. They perform routine and complex nursing duties, delegate tasks appropriately, and develop skills for handling contingencies. Responsibilities include adhering to nursing standards, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation, and addressing patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs. They administer medications, monitor treatment effects, document care, and educate patients and families. Requirements include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred), at least 1 year of related experience, BLS certification, and an RN license in the state or via the compact.
