This position requires excellent mechanical skills and basic electrical knowledge. They will perform routine equipment setup and maintenance and troubleshooting on high volume – high demand equipment. Resolving problems in a fast-paced environment and working towards improving long-term equipment reliability are an essential part of this role. Responsibilities Must be able to comply with facility safety regulations, including wearing of proper PPE, and following general required facility safety practices Perform time-sensitive work, with focus on work quality and reliability Address any emergency calls while on the job site, particularly relating to production sensitive items Able to work independently and/or with teams of varying disciplines Effectively communicate, verbally and written, with floor operators to understand equipment related malfunctions, failures, and general defects Troubleshoot machine/equipment/system issues, and be able to effectively communicate findings to the team leader or other direct supervision Perform product/line changeovers, setup, and test runs to ensure equipment performance is within established quality and productivity standards Perform routine scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and reporting Report on parts inventory and submit requests as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications Excellent mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities for the following: - Motors, couplings, and other driveline parts Gears, pulleys, tensioners Chain and belt driven conveyors Vacuum and pneumatic systems Precision alignment and timing of mechanical devices Good ability to navigate and troubleshoot through the use of PCs and Human/Machine Interfaces Experience troubleshooting equipment controls, including: Encoders (timers / counters) Position transducers and material sensing devices Pactiv Evergreen is one of the largest manufacturers of fresh food & beverage packaging in North America, with market leading positions across a broad range of products.
