LPNNow hiring for day and night nursing staff LPNsSummary: To work as a nurse at Sunshine, you must have a strong interest in providing nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that supports our mission: to create community among people with developmental disabilities, their families, friends, and staffResponsibilities:Act as a representative for Sunshine and the nursing departmentConsults with physician, consultants and other clinical and medical professionals regarding individual medical plans and treatments under the guidance of the DON and ADONProvides consistent, high quality medical care to individuals of Sunshine, to include the dispensing of medications and IV therapies as permitted by practice act and policyPrepares, dispenses, administers and documents on medications in a safe, organized manner as permitted by practice act and outlined in Nursing Policies and ProceduresMaintains adequate daily records for the following: a) treatments; b) unusual incidents; c) daily running report; d) BM charts - check of suppositories and enemas as neededDelivers and administers treatments where needed, as scheduled, documenting the results seenMakes emergency medical decisions and adequately carries them outAssists in emergencies, and provides services in other units as neededReports trends or patterns and all unusual occurrences to the Nursing LeadershipProvides education and mentoring to individuals, staff and families with instructions provided by Nursing Leadership and/or the PhysicianManages orders for medication, medication storage, medical supplies and equipment for individuals while maintaining a clean and organized areasParticipates daily in report to and from the floor nurseParticipates in Medicaid Documentation as directed and both Medicaid and Licensure surveys as scheduledFollow all Federal, State and organizational regulations and policies.Does filing as necessaryOther duties as assignedExpected to regularly work in all areas as assigned in addition to duties listed above.Qualifications:Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of OhioValid Driver's License, good driving record and proof of auto insurancePass criminal background, drug screen, physical & PT assessmentAble to lift 50 lbs.18 years or olderBenefits:Comprehensive health package (medical/dental/vision/life/disability)$3 Weekend Shift differential pay401(k) with company matchPaid TrainingPaid Vacation & Personal DaysInterest Free Tuition and Small Dollar LoansTransportation AssistanceEmployee Assistance ProgramTraining & Advancement through Sunshine USunshine Communities, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Northwest Ohio supporting individuals with developmental disabilities through residential, vocational, clinical, therapeutic, and recreational services.
