Clinician I/II-CSU PRN

Overview Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking PRN Clinicians I or II to join our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). Under general supervision, the successful candidate will perform intermediate professional work providing direct clinical service to clients, including intake, assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, prevention services, managing cases, providing therapy, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned supervisor in our 16 bed state licensed facility specializing in crisis stabilization and hospital diversion for mentally ill adults. The facility is located in our main building in Richmond. Responsibilities Perform triage of referrals, intakes, client assessments and diagnostic interviews; conduct mental health and substance use disorder assessments and monitor level of functioning. Manage all clinical needs of CSU clients on assigned shift. Assist client in identifying self‑determined goals and jointly prepare individualized service plan. Develop and facilitate psycho‑educational groups; provide individual, family and group counseling; implement treatment plans; coordinate daily treatment schedule. Coordinate case management services; link client to community resources and medical services; interface with other service providers and client support system. Provide crisis intervention and prevention services to individuals and families. Provide consultation, education and prevention services. Document and chart information about client assessment and individualized service plans, progress notes, crisis education prevention plan, discharge summaries and other client‑related data, correspondence, medical records, etc.; prepare and submit reports as required. Monitor and audit clinical and medical records and practices for compliance with regulatory, reimbursement and agency standards; review documentation for accuracy; assist with reviewing division policies and procedures. Develop collaborative relationships with community partners. Serve on a variety of committees as directed; prepare and distribute agendas; attend and participate in meetings. Attend professional conferences and trainings as required. Provide direct shift supervision of direct care staff in absence of CSU supervisors and Manager. Other duties as assigned. Varies shifts: Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts available. Position Requirements Minimum requirements are a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or related field from an accredited college. At least one year of experience working with seriously mentally ill clients. At least two years of experience working with dually diagnosed clients. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Must have excellent customer service skills. Licensed mental health professionals preferred. CASC certification preferred. Valid driver’s license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
