Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 18 months of MICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Medical ICU (MICU) of a 521-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Epic EMR system used; experience is required
• Floating is required across all three system campuses within approximately 20 miles (Martin North, South, and Tradition)
• Block scheduling is not available
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 18 months of MICU experience required; 2 years preferred
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or Red Cross) and ACLS at time of consideration; NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Two professional references from a direct supervisor, manager, ANM, or director required
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Candidates must be nicotine-free; a negative 10-panel drug screen including cotinine is required — no exceptions
• Required online modules must be completed prior to start and are non-billable; modules average 6–15 hours and vary by specialty
• EKG and pharmacology tests are required during orientation; each may be attempted a maximum of two times with no remediation — failure results in cancellation
• Study materials for orientation tests are provided in advance
• Strict call-in policy is enforced at this facility
• White scrubs are required
• Parking is free in any unrestricted space
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; RTO added after initial submission will likely not be approved
• Candidates who have previously worked at any Cleveland Clinic location as permanent or per diem staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
• Travelers may not exceed 18 consecutive months at any Cleveland Clinic location, and must wait a minimum of 6 months before returning to any Cleveland Clinic location after an assignment ends
